| Unfortunately, a common sight in Kenya is a series of graves with dates within a few years of each other at the family homestead. AIDS has devastated Africa. Kenya has the third highest HIV rate in the world. There are over 1.2 million children orphaned by AIDS alone in Kenya. Often children are left at the family homestead. They are fortunate to have a family home in which to live but often the children have no means of support. |
This family has suffered a great deal of loss. The children and orphaned nieces live in the family home struggling to survive. A donor has adopted this family for the year 2004. The donation has provided gardening tools and seeds and vocational education for the two eldest children. |
