Joseph Waweru Home School

Joseph Waweru Home School Boys

In 2008 the Joseph Waweru Home School became a refuge for some escaping the post election violence. Thanks to all of you who gave a special donation, we were able to buy mattresses, blankets, food, clothing and/or pay some relocation expenses for more than 40 people during that stressful time. The feeding program in Kericho was suspended due to the violence. In 2009, we look forward to exploring new directions for the feeding program, filling openings at the Joseph Waweru Home School and exploring the best way to serve girls. If you would like to help us help children in Kenya. Click Here .

In 2008, Expanding Opportunities began an income generating business called Debley Rentals. After a rough beginning with the post election violence, the business is stabilizing and contributing to the support of the Joseph Waweru Home School.
Expanding Opportunities is seeking investors for other income generating activities.  If you are intersted in becoming an investor, email info@expandingopportunities.org for more information and business plans.

STEMS

Help a Child Attend School

In 2009 , we hope to raise enough funds to help children attend school through purchasing uniforms.

Click the image to help, visit our website, or call 1-888-760-7943.

STEMS is Expanding Opportunities' MicroLoan and education assistance project.
In 2008, many of the loan project businesses were destroyed during the post election violence.
Expanding Opportunities piloted a short term project called EESD: Encouraging Education: Sustaining Dignity.  It was a work trade project for school uniforms and lunches during the post election violence.  EESD was well received and Expanding Opportunities is seeking to continue this worthwhile project.
At the end of 2008, One Million Ways funded several last year high school students so they could take their exams and purchased some greatly needed desks for primary schools.

Books For Kenya

Books for Kwanupanga Arrive

In 2008, Books for Kwaupanga and Expanding Opportunities successfully delivered a full container of books to Kwaupanga Schools in Kenya!

A single donor donates funds for Bibles in Kiswahili to be purchased and distributed. These were distributed in 2008 and will be again in 2009.  Near the end of 2008, Bibles and other literature were collected and will be distributed to individuals and church libraries.
