Check back for images and updates.

The Books have SHIPPED!!

Goal: To raise funds to collect, ship and deliver a minimum of 4,000 surplus English language elementary textbooks and literature books to schools in need in the Kwaupanga village and to raise funds, order and deliver Kiswahili textbooks and literature books to schools in need in the Kwaupanga village.

  • Many people visit developing nations and are moved by the need.
  • Some act to meet the need.Ken and Tracy Zeringer are two of those people.
  • They have organized the Books for Kwaupanga Village Schools project.

In Tracy's own words:

In November of 2006 I visited Malindi, Kenya as part of an organization that travels there annually.  During our visit to the Kwaupanga village, outside of Malindi, I shared some books with a group of the children.  The books were immediately passed from one small group of children to another as they read aloud to each other.  When I returned home I contacted HopeBuilders, a local Kenyan group of pastors from various churches that work together for the betterment of all their villages. I asked them to contact the schools regarding sending books to the schools. The response was overwhelmingly positive.  They need updated textbooks to help the children learn to read and write English, and curriculum and literature books in the Kiswahili language.
At this time we have 4000 English textbooks collected.  Although we would welcome any additional books,  we are in need of funds to ship the textbooks and purchase Kiswahili literature and curriculum books.
