Individual Child Support: Girl Child
Sponsoring a child can be a deeply enriching experience.
As a sponsor you can write to your child, send pictures of your family, or home or even visit!
Your sponsored child can write to you at her level. Expanding Opportunities will provide you with updated photos of your child annually.
Your sponsorship will allow a girl child to have a safe haven in a home, or boarding school, education, medical care, and guidance with their physical, mental emotional and spiritual growth.
We are here to help your sponsorship be all you would like it to be. Don’t hesitate to contact us.
Select your child, click the Sponsor button to sponsor through PayPal or the email to have a representative of Expanding Opportunities contact you and your adventure in child sponsorship will begin. Surrounding the small village of Ariemet are five pastoralist tribes. Many of the girls in these tribes are still subject to FGM and early marriage. These practices were outlawed in Kenya several years ago but they are still practiced in many areas. HELP us to HELP these girls and HELP the families understand the value and importance of education and choice for the GIRL CHILD.
EMERGENCY RESCUE: Expanding Opportunities has established a fund that will cover the immediate needs of the girls before a sponsor is found. When the girls arrive or a call is made, the girls are transported and have only the clothes on their back. They need immediate clothing, shelter and toiletries. This fund will provide that immediate need until a sponsor is found. If you would like to sponsor a girl, this is the best way to begin. Your first month will be held in this fund until a girl is rescued, then you will be contacted for sponsorship.
The cost to rescue a girl and establish her in a home or school varies. Therefore, please consider a donation of $30.00 or more.
Expanding Opportunities has discovered many girls who need a variety of different types of assistance. Many are not able to attend school due to school uniform and other fees. Some older girls are unable to attend several days per month due to the lack of hygeine products. Some very young girls are forced into marriage or female circumcision. There are groups that rescue these girls but they need additional assistance. If you would like to assist a Girl Child, your donation of any amount will be used specifically for a girl child in need. Rescue of girl children is ongoing and often a sudden need for a sponsor arises. If you would like to sponsor a girl child, please click the donate button and donate any amount. Include your desire to regularly sponsor a girl in the instructions box and we will contact you with the name and information. Full sponsorship is $1080 per year. Partial sponsorship is welcome as some girls need only a little support.
This is Dini. She is 10 years old. When she heard that Josephine was coming to Kipsing, she tore off her beads indicating that she was prepared for marriage, told her father that she did not want to be married she wanted to go to school, and ran several kilometers to find Josephine. When we left Kipsing, Dini was with us along with her new sponsor to begin a new life. She and Seibuko joined three other girls rescued by Josephine.
Dini has a sponsor. Thank you Diana.
Seibuko is 11 years old. She was abused and ran to the school. They delivered her to us on the day we were to leave. There was no time to locate a sponsor but Seibuko was along with us to begin a new life at school with Dini. She joined three other girls rescued by Josephine.
Seibuko now has a sponsor from USA through a Missionary in Nakuru.
Expanding Opportunities has been given 5 acres of land for the development of the Ariemet-Kulea Girl's Rescue Center. A great deal of local support in the form of human resources is available. We need funding for building materials. It is estimated that stage I of the Center can be constructed for approximately $35,000.00. The subsequent stages cost less to construct. Please help us develop this Home with a donation of any size.
