Service Journey

Opportunities in Peru

Expanding Opportunities' Peru journeys are in collaboration with SEED TREE.  Seed Tree assists people to protect and renew their forests by developing a sustainable human ecology. Seed Tree has begun a program for the great Amazonian forest of Peru by collecting seed and planting valuable native trees.  Seed Tree expects to locate and purchase land to establish an Eco-Reserve.

These journeys continue the tree planting projects and work on the establishment of the Eco-Reserve.

Machu Picchu
History

Cusco is the famous Incan capital or the largest civilization of the Americas. Visit Cusco,  Machu Picchu and the sacred valley of the Urubamba.

Planting seeds

Tree Planting
Seed Tree projects are in several areas of the Peruvian Amazon. Seeds are brought to the villages. They plant them in nurseries and tend the seedlings until they are ready to transplant.  Each village decides where the trees will be planted and who will tend them.
These journeys will bring more seed to the villages to be planted in the nurseries.  Seedlings may also be ready in some villages for transplanting.
 Searching for Land

Eco-Reserve

2009 is the year to locate and decide which plot(s) of land will be purchased for the Eco-Reserve.

A journey in 2009 places you in the exciting position of exploration, decision making and ground work for this important step for Seed Tree.

* This is a unique opportunity to travel to Peru, enjoy some rest and relaxation, build life-long friendships and participate in the work of the Peruvian Amazon.
