The eldest, Emmanuel

Emmanuel is the eldest at the Joseph Waweru Home School. He works hard around the home. Here he is chopping the corn for the cows. Vincent is Emmanuel's brother. He is enjoying the CD player sent from the USA.

Breakfast at Camp

We are so pleased with our boys. They have grown into happy, healthy teenagers. In this picture, the boys are posing for pictures. The boys from left to right are in the rear, Emmanuel, George, Kamau, Raphael, in the front, John and Collins.

Each year we try to take the boys on a field trip. Here are the boys, Pastor and Mama, volunteers and drivers all having breakfast at the campground before entering Amboseli National Park. This was the first time for the boys to sleep in a tent.

Valentine's Day Party

Doing the Laundry

Valentine's Day is a special occasion in Kenya. Everyone gathered in Pastor's house for a feast. A regular chore at the Joseph Waweru Home School is doing the laundry. The boys must wash their own clothes. They use plastic wash basins and hang them to dry.

Sifting the Compost

Our Boys

Catherine, our long term volunteer in 2004, established the organic gardens and the compost pile. It was time for the 2005 planting season, so the boys sifted the compost and spread it on the raised beds. All is not work at the Joseph Waweru Home School, the boys enjoy fooling around and posing for the camera.
