Street Children of Kericho

Street children of Kericho, Kenya in Africa

In Kericho, Kenya, there are many homeless street children. Some of these children are as young as four years of age. The reasons these children turn to the streets are many, but the most common one is the poverty their families' face. Most often, hunger is the closest friend of a street child. Unfortunately, many of them turn to sniffing glue from glue sticks. It gives them a high and they soon become addicted.

Pastor Joseph Waweru has taken these children into his heart and care. He is raising money to buy them food and sometimes clothing. He is working to teach them that glue sniffing is not good for their bodies and minds. To win the heart and friendship of a street child is not an easy task. They are fearful and cautious. Pastor Waweru is making progress with some of the children.
